web 2.0 can be seen as being the second generation of the world wide web. it can't be defined on its own, in order for it to be properly defined it must be compared to the web itself.
web 2.0 can be seen as being the new - dynamic and a lot more visual when compared to '1.0'.
Tim O'Reilly has a view of web 2.0 like no other, brainstorming the differences between the old and the new so that he could really narrow it down. Comparing DoubleClick with Google, Ofoto with Flicker made it easier for one to notice the differences between the two in order to define what web 2.0 really means.
